The Foal of an Ass is the Rebellious Sinner, and or Backsliding Saint?
If any one who has a knowledge of horses they will know that you don't get on the back of a foal being not yet a year old and not tamed, they won't let you even put a blanket on them.  Their natural instinct is to throw off any thing that would clime on their back because the predator of the horse will drop on to a horses back from an advantage point and the frighten hose or donkey would bolt throwing it's rider.  Now you can understand that Jesus was doing some thing unnatural by get on the back of this foal.  Also the foal at this age would have difficulty carrying His weight.  And the other consideration that the Jackass is well known for it's rebellious attitude.  There are places in the scripture were man is referred to as a Jackass.

John12:12 The next day a great crowd who had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.  So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!"  And Jesus found a young ass and sat upon it; as it is written, "Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on an ass's colt!"

Mk.11:1 And when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Beth'phage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,  and said to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat; untie it and bring it.  If any one says to you, `Why are you doing this?' say, `The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.'"  And they went away, and found a colt tied at the door out in the open street; and they untied it.  And those who stood there said to them, "What are you doing, untying the colt?"  And they told them what Jesus had said; and they let them go. : And they brought the colt to Jesus, and threw their garments on it; and he sat upon it.

Mt.21:1 And when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Beth'phage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find an ass tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me.  If any one says anything to you, you shall say, `The Lord has need of them,' and he will send them immediately."  This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, Zech. 9:9, saying,  "Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on an ass, and on a colt, the foal of an ass."  The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them; they brought the ass and the colt, and put their garments on them, and he sat thereon.

Lk.19:29 When he drew near to Beth'phage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples,  saying, "Go into the village opposite, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat; untie it and bring it here. If any one asks you, `Why are you untying it?' you shall say this, `The Lord has need of it.'"  So those who were sent went away and found it as he had told them.  And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?" And they said, "The Lord has need of it."  And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their garments on the colt they set Jesus upon it.  And as he rode along, they spread their garments on the road.

Exodus13:12, You shall set apart to the LORD all that first opens the womb. All the firstlings of your cattle that are males shall be the LORD's.
13: Every firstling of an ass you shall redeem with a lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. Every first-born of man among your sons you shall redeem. 14 And when in time to come your son asks you, `What does this mean?' you shall say to him, `By strength of hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Genesis 16:11 And the angel of the LORD said to Ha'gar, "Behold, you are with child, and shall bear a son; you shall call his name Ish'mael; because the LORD has given heed to your affliction.  He shall be a wild ass of a man, his hand will be against every man and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen."

Job 11:11 For he knows worthless men; when he sees iniquity, will he not consider it? 12 But a stupid man will get understanding, when a wild ass's colt is born a man.

This is speaking of the unregenerate human that lives in unbelief and walks according to the ways of the world.
Paul said in 1Romans 1:21: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
You can read into this statement, a rebellion in man towards God.  Typical of a Jackass.
And concerning the back slider Jeremiah is saying by the of Spirit of the Lord, Ch.2:19: Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts. "
Men and brethren what shall we do?
Jem.4:3 For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: "Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
4: Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, remove the foreskin of your hearts, O men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn with none to quench it, because of the evil of your doings." 5 Declare in Judah, and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say, "Blow the trumpet through the land; cry aloud and say, `Assemble, and let us go into the fortified cities!' 6: Raise a standard toward Zion, flee for safety, stay not, for I bring evil from the north, and great destruction. 7: A lion has gone up from his thicket, a destroyer of nations has set out; he has gone forth from his place to make your land a waste; your cities will be ruins without inhabitant. 8: For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and wail; for the fierce anger of the LORD has not turned back from us." 9: "In that day, says the LORD, courage shall fail both king and princes; the priests shall be appalled and the prophets astounded."
Saints we have entered the day of the Lord, and He will subdue all His enemies.  The message to the Nations and to the Church is Repent or Perish, Great Fear to Come upon the Church, Chastisement upon the disobedient, SERIOUSNESS IS REQUIRED.

Joel 2:12 "Yet even now," says the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; 13 and rend your hearts and not your garments." Return to the LORD, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and repents of evil. 14 Who knows whether he will not turn and repent, and leave a blessing behind him, a cereal offering and a drink offering for the LORD, your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion; sanctify a fast; call a solemn assembly; 16: gather the people. Sanctify the congregation; assemble the elders; gather the children, even nursing infants. Let the bridegroom leave his room, and the bride her chamber. 17 Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep and say, "Spare thy people, O LORD, and make not thy heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, `Where is their God?"  18 Then the LORD became jealous for his land, and had pity on his people. 19: The LORD answered and said to his people, "Behold, I am sending to you grain, wine, and oil, and you will be satisfied; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations. 20 "I will remove the northern army far from you,(devil demons) and drive him into a parched and desolate land(bottomless pit), his front into the eastern sea, and his rear into the western sea; the stench and foul smell of him will rise, for he has done great things 21 "Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice, for the LORD has done great things! 22 Fear not, you beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness are green; the tree bears its fruit, the fig tree and vine give their full yield. 23 "Be glad, O sons of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD, your God; for he has given the early rain for your vindication, he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before. 24 "The threshing floors shall be full of grain, the vats shall overflow with wine and
The scripture tells us that there is blessing in obedience and sorrow in disobedience.  We have a choice For me and my family we will serve the Lord and live.
Blessings to you all, in Jesus name.
