Outer Court Ministry

As we sit back and observe the body of Christ we begin to see in
operation two very different types of ministry in two very distinct
realms. One realm is temporal while the other is eternal.  One is
natural while the other is spiritual. In many respects the temporal is
set in place to "birth" the eternal. What I am specifically refering to
are the outer court and holy place realms and their distinct ministries.
Both ministries are of the Lord and serve a specific purpose. The outer
court and it's ministry are temporal and serve to birth us into the
eternal which is the holy place or inner court ministry.

The one main distinction between these two "realms" is the focus of
ministry. In the outer court the focus of ministry is "unto man" while
in the holy place the focus of ministry is "unto the Lord". Before we go
any further I want to make it clear that BOTH ministries are from the
Lord. One is centered on reconciliation while the other is centered on
relationship. Even though much of what is happening in the outer court
is NOT birthed by the Lord it still does not negate or lessen the fact
that the overall plan of the Lord has the outer court ministry built
into it.

One point that we must make here is to expose the true and counterfeit
ministries of the outer court. Both are man centered. The authentic
temporal ministry is God's ministry unto man for the express purpose of
restoration and reconciliation of man back to Himself. In this respect,
the whole emphasis of the outer court ministry is centered on humanity
and the restoration of man spiritually. What that is suppose to birth is
a shift of ministry focus from man to God and thus an entrance from the
natural or earthly realm to the spiritual or kingdom realm. A shift from
the outer court to the holy place, a shift from ministry unto man to
ministry unto the Lord.

Thus the five fold ministry is a gift to the body from God that resides
in the outer court until she is raised to the full measure or maturity.
That ministry ends when this goal is realized.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for
the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of
the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of
the fulness of Christ:

The counterfeit to this is also man-centered. It is ministry unto man
for the express purpose of deifying and exalting the flesh. The ultimate
purpose of this counterfeit from the enemy is to maintain the outer
court ministry and decare it as permanent thus preventing the children
from entering into the kingdom realm. This counterfeit ministry opposes
all who wish to press out of the outer court realm and is a true enemy
of the cross of christ. This is the spirit of antichrist at work who
opposes and exalts himself against the true knowledge of God that only
exists in the holy place. This is the trap many, many ministers fall
into, namely not rightly dividing the word of God, dividing that which
is temporal from that which is eternal. This counterfeit operates from
the premise that the outer court ministry is a VIABLE PLACE OF WORSHIP.
Thus there is no need to press forward.

Hebrews 9: 6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went
always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service [of God].
7 But into the second [went] the high priest alone once every year, not
without blood, which he offered for himself, and [for] the errors of the
people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all
was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet
standing:

As long as the temporal is viewed as a viable institute of worship there
is no need to enter into that realm of true worship. So the old must be
recognised in our hearts as temporal for us to proceed to press forward
into the eternal.

Luke 5:39 No man also having drunk old [wine] straightway desireth new:
for he saith, The old is better.

Since in the minds of many of God's ministers the outer court is not
temporal, then in their minds their ministry is also not temporal.
Because of this, kingdoms begin to be built on the premise of keeping
the sheep under their care or sphere of influence, not recognising that
their ministry ends as those placed under their care find the entrance
into the holy place, which is suppose to be the central theme of
ministry.

John 4: 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers
shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh
such to worship him.
24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in
spirit and in truth.

As man exalts himself, namely his calling, gifting, and ministry over
the Lord, he actually hinders those who would enter in because the only
sphere of influence man has is in the outer court. God gave men
authority in the outer court to lead others into the holy place and not
to build a kingdom. As we observe the body we can see many factions and
divisions which represent many "wills" if you wish. Peace and harmony
can only exist were there is one will. Were more than one will exist
strife and division will reign. This is the currrent condition of the
body which attests to the fact that most of the church still abides in
the outer court realm. This also attests to the fact that in the outer
court Jesus is NOT King, rather man is free to choose as he or she
wishes. One of those choices being to willingly loose all rights and
enter into the kingdom (King's dominion) and abide under His rule and
authority.

Now the Lord in His mercy has set up an authority STRUCTURE in the outer
court so that there is NOT ANARCHY. That temporal authority structure is
only to make sure justice is served, the sheep are protected, and
entrance into the holy place is made sure. It isn't perfect because it
operates in the natural realm were Jesus is not King. That structure
will not exist in the near future.

Revelation 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the
angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar,
and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it
not; for it is given
unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty
[and] two months.

Do you remember what Jesus said:

Mark 10: 2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful
for a man to put away
[his] wife? tempting him.
3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to
put [her] away.
5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart
he wrote you this
precept.
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to
his wife;
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain,
but one flesh.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Note verse 6. See, the real plan of God was one thing but because of the
hardness of the hearts of the children of Israel God allowed them to
operate under outer court rules in hopes that someday they would enter
in to the true place of worship and abide under the true law which is
love. Love does not put away their wife, it is longsuffering. In the
kingdom there is no need for the law because all who walk in the kingdom
realm abide by the law of love and are in harmony with one another
because they are one with the King. The law is only to maintain order in
the outer court were man's rule still reigns.

This passage of scripture conveys that all that is written concerning
our "biblical church operation" is not necessarily the permanent or
eternal intention of heart of God. In other words, much that is written
concerning church order is only written for our sakes in His mercy and
infinate longsuffering and patience with us since we choose to dwell in
the outer court in order that we are protected until such a time as we
choose to enter into the holy place or kingdom realm.

This is were the old order or authority structure ends. None of that
authority structure to maintain order is needed in the Holy Place
because in THAT REALM  Jesus is King and there is no lawlessness.
Because Jesus is King and Lord or every man in that realm, there is
naturally no need in the Holy Place for elder, decons, and I will be so
bold to say apostles, prophets, pastors, ect...

The apostles and prophets are "sent ones" to the outer court NOT TO RULE
but rather to help all who wish to enter into the kingdom realm to fid
the doorway. But on the OTHER SIDE of the doorway in the holy place, the
apostle takes off there badge and the prophet takes off their badge
because in the holy place there is no need that any man teaches for the
Holy Spirit teaches every man, the Holy Place being illuminated by the
golden candlestick with the anointing oil.

May we recognise the temporal and eternal realms of ministry and seek to
press beyond that which is temporal and press forward to the high
calling of God and be found worthy to be called priests and ministers
unto the Lord.
